Databases

Most PHP apps (shops, forums, CMSs) need a database. WordPress installed from Plesk creates its own, so this guide is for other apps.

Create the database

In the left menu click Databases, then Add Database.
Fill in the details
- Database name: for example shop;
- Related site: the domain that uses it;
- Database user name and password: the user your app connects with.
Click OK.
Connect your app

In your app's configuration file, use:

Host localhost
Port 3306
Database the name from step 2
User and password the ones from step 2

phpMyAdmin

Click phpMyAdmin on the database to browse tables, run queries or import a .sql file. To import, open the Import tab, choose the file and click Import.
